What effects did missionaries have on not only the Native American people, but the tone it set for the steps after as well?

Use Hoganson’s American Empire at the Turn of the Twentieth Century as the point of departure for the final research project.  Look over the Questions for Consideration on page 159-160.  These questions are too broad for your research paper, but they are the sorts of questions that you should be asking in determining your final paper topic.  Think about how you can narrow the focus of these questions to create a manageable topic for a 2500-3000 word paper.  Hoganson has provided a number of sources and a bibliography to get you started, but you also need to conduct additional primary and secondary research in preparing your paper.  I will provide feedback at each stage of the process.  Pick your topic wisely, though, because a change in topic will necessitate resubmission of each stage of the project.  The final paper must be 2500-3000 words.
