Description
Please answer the following 4 questions. For several decades now, economists have spoken of the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) as the growing economic powerhouses that represent great opportunity for global organizations. Companies investing in these countries right now are, to some degree, too late. In this exercise, you are asked to make some prediction of what the next “up-and-coming” countries are/will be. From a global supply chain perspective, consider both countries that hold potential as good production/sourcing investments as well as countries that hold potential as new markets. Question 1 (1 point) What are some of the criteria you would look for in determining what countries have high potential in the next 5-10 years? List at least five things you think would be important in making this determination. Question 2 (1 point) For the criteria you listed in the first question, how would you measure each of these? Are some more difficult than others, and if so, is there a proxy measurement that could be used in ranking countries? Question 2 options: Question 3 (1 point) Based on your criteria and the way you measured them, what are 5-7 high-potential countries? Question 4 (1 point) Do you find anything on your list of high-potential countries surprising? Are there any countries that did not make your list that you think should have, in spite of the criteria? Give a 3-4 sentence answer addressing any such issues.
