Position Paper   Overview Having explored different alternatives and solutions, you are going to present a brief argument that states which solution you have picked and why.     General Guidelines 2-3 pages, typed, double-spaced; Times New Roman, 12 Point. MLA or APA. 1-2 sources.     Specific Guidelines ·      Position Papers are used to state a perspective on the issue and briefly provide support for it. ·      Your paper should include the following: o   Introduction – present the problem as context, and your solution as the thesis. o   Body – Spend several paragraphs showing the general reason that your solution is a good idea. §  Consider the different development strategies we have discussed. o   Conclusion- Wraps up your argument while emphasizing to your audience that action needs to be taken.   Sources ·      Only one source is required, but it is suggested you use several. ·     Note: Seeing that this paper is pretty short, you need to be concise and focused. Concentrate on your argument and why it works, not on why others don’t.
